Welcome! We’re testing out our newly minted travel blog. We had a quick but fantastic weekend filled with family, friends, good food, and memories in New Orleans.
We headed to New Orleans for a long weekend to attend our friend Kenny & Lindsay’s wedding. We had boiled crawfish and shrimp at Mom & Dad’s house. We took a trip into the Quarter and had our own parade after the makeup Irish Channel St Patrick’s Day parade was cancelled due to weather (but it never rained and the weather was perfect!). We made stops at Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop – they have been serving alcohol since 1722! – and also to Jewel of the South for great craft cocktails. The wedding on Saturday was at St Louis Cathedral then the reception was at the WWII Museum. Then on Sunday we got invited to join in a sailing race which was a lot of fun – and we won! Made our way home on Monday – woke up to a cancelled flight but were ultimately able to rebook onto an earlier flight with no trouble.
